About Us

We’re Matt and Nichole Simpkins, the owners of Lost Moose Meadows RV Campground. After years of living and working in Nevada, we decided it was finally time to build the campground we had talked about for years.

We chose Lincoln for a lot of reasons. We loved the mountains, rivers, wildlife, and seemingly endless access to the outdoors, but the location was important to us too. Lincoln sits between Helena, Missoula, and Great Falls and makes a great home base for exploring this part of Montana. It also fits naturally into a larger Montana trip between Glacier and Yellowstone National Parks, while still being far enough away from the busier tourist areas to enjoy some peace and quiet.

We moved to Lincoln in 2020 and broke ground on Lost Moose Meadows in April 2022. We did much of the work ourselves (with help from friends and family), clearing the land, installing utilities, building the roads, office and shower house, and creating each of the RV sites. In July 2023, we welcomed our first guests.

We built Lost Moose Meadows the way we wanted to camp ourselves: fewer RV sites, lots of room between them, and a place where you can actually enjoy being outside.

What You’ll Find Here

Spacious RV Sites: Lost Moose Meadows has just 40 full-hookup RV sites, including 17 pull-throughs up to 90 feet long and 23 back-ins up to 75 feet long. We could have fit more sites, but we chose not to. Many are spaced nearly 100 feet apart, giving you room to sit outside, enjoy the view, and not feel like your neighbor’s RV is part of your campsite.

Practical Amenities: Every site has water, sewer, and 20/30/50-amp electric hookups, along with a picnic table and fire ring. You’ll also find clean restrooms and hot showers, free Wi-Fi, a camp store, a playground, a fenced dog park, and daily trash pickup.

A Central Western Montana Location: Lincoln is about 60 miles from Helena, 85 miles from Missoula, and 80 miles from Great Falls, putting three of Montana’s larger cities within easy reach. But you don’t have to drive far to find something to do. Some of the best outdoor recreation in the area is right here around Lincoln.

Explore Lincoln and Beyond

There’s a lot to explore without spending half your day in the car. Fish the Blackfoot River, head out on nearby ATV and UTV trails, hike in the mountains, visit Garnet Ghost Town, or just take a drive and see where you end up.

Lincoln is only about three miles from the campground, with restaurants, fuel, groceries, and everything you need for your stay. And if Lost Moose Meadows is one stop on a bigger Montana RV trip, our location works well for travelers exploring western Montana or traveling between Glacier and Yellowstone.
