Who stays with us for a month
A month at Lost Moose Meadows works well for traveling professionals on an assignment nearby, RVers who want a quiet home base while they explore western Montana, and anyone who’d rather slow down than move every few days. Lincoln puts Helena about an hour away and Missoula about an hour and a half, so bigger errands are a day trip, while the campground stays peaceful.
Settling in for the month
- Full hookups. Every site has water, sewer and 20, 30 and 50 amp power, plus a picnic table and fire ring.
- Internet. Free campground WiFi is available, but speed inside an RV varies with your rig, and cell service can be spotty in the mountains. If you work online, plan on a backup like a cell booster or satellite internet.
- Errands. Town, places to eat, fuel and a laundromat are less than 3 miles away. Helena is about an hour away for groceries, RV parts and larger shopping.
- Pets. Two pets per site stay free, and the fenced dog park makes long stays easy for your dogs. See our park rules for the details.
- Quiet nights. Evenings are quiet, and on clear nights the stars are hard to beat.
Room makes a difference when you’re staying a month
A longer stay is easier to enjoy when you have room outside your RV. With just 40 sites across about 15 acres, there’s space to settle in and enjoy the mountain setting.
Ideas for a month in the mountains
A month gives you plenty of time to explore without trying to fit everything into a few days. Here’s one way to spread it out.
- Week one: Settle in, visit the Blackfoot River at Lincoln Community River Park, visit Sculpture in the Wild, and spend a few evenings outside watching for wildlife.
- Week two: Take a day trip to Helena by way of Marysville, and hike to Heart Lake in the Scapegoat Wilderness.
- Week three: Ride up to Granite Butte Lookout, explore Garnet Ghost Town, and plan a clear night for stargazing.
- Week four: Make the big trip to Glacier, or head south to Philipsburg and Georgetown Lake. See our day trips for more.

How do I book a monthly stay?
Give us a call at (406) 204-0424. Phone hours are 8am to 8pm Mountain. Monthly stays aren’t booked online, so we can match you with the right site.
Which sites are available for a month?
Monthly stays are on select Standard Back-In sites on the east side of the campground, based on availability. Ask us about your rig’s length when you call.
Do I pay lodging tax on a monthly stay?
No. Montana doesn’t charge its 8% lodging tax on stays of 30 nights or more.
Can I combine the monthly discount with other discounts?
No. Monthly discounts can’t be combined with other discounts or promo codes, and they don’t apply to Meadow View sites.
When can I stay for a month?
Any time during our season. We’re open April 15 through October 15.
